چکیده

Abstract Utilization of modern breeding techniques for developing high yielding and uniform plant types ultimately narrowing the genetic makeup most crops. Narrowed these crops has made them vulnerable towards disease insect epidemics. For sustainable crop production, variability must be broadened against various biotic abiotic stresses. One ways to widen configuration is identify novel additional sources durable resistance. In this regard wild relatives are providing valuable allelic diversity biotic, stress tolerance quality components. incorporating from relative’s wide hybridization technique become a promising method. purpose, wheat-Th. bessarabicum amphiploid, addition translocation lines have been screened in field screen house conditions get yellow rust Karnal bunt resistant. Stripe screening under revealed 4JJ 6JJ as resistant moderately while 3JJ, 5JJ, 7JJ Tr-3, Tr-6 wheat-Thinopyrum-bessarabicum stock. depicted 5JJ highly These stocks may used introgression stripe resistance tertiary gene pool into susceptible wheat backgrounds.

Genetic analysis and molecular mapping of wheat genes conferring resistance to the wheat stripe rust and barley stripe rust pathogens.

ABSTRACT Stripe rust is one of the most important diseases of wheat and barley worldwide. On wheat it is caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici and on barley by P. striiformis f. sp. hordei Most wheat genotypes are resistant to P. striiformis f. sp. hordei and most barley genotypes are resistant to P. striiformis f. sp. tritici. To determine the genetics of resistance in wheat to P. stri...

Molecular Characterization of a New Wheat-Thinopyrum intermedium Translocation Line with Resistance to Powdery Mildew and Stripe Rust

A new wheat-Thinopyrum translocation line CH13-21 was selected from the progenies derived from a cross between wheat-Th. intermedium partial amphiploid TAI7047 and wheat line Mianyang11. CH13-21 was characterized by using genomic in situ hybridization (GISH), multicolor-GISH (mc-GISH), multicolor-fluorescence in situ hybridization (mc-FISH) and chromosome-specific molecular markers. When inocul...

Characterization of Thinopyrum Species for Wheat Stem Rust Resistance and Ploidy Level

In the tribe Triticeae, several Thinopyrum species have been used as sources of resistance to stem rust (caused by Puccinia graminis Pers.:Pers. f. sp. tritici Eriks. & E. Henn., abbreviated as Pgt) and other wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) diseases. To identify novel sources of resistance to Pgt race TTKSK (Ug99), we evaluated and characterized the stem rust resistance of 242 accessions belonging...

SNP-Based Improvement of a Microsatellite Marker Associated with Karnal Bunt Resistance in Wheat

Marker-assisted selection (MAS) has become the technology of choice for introgressing important traits with indistinct phenotypes into agronomically elite cultivars. Karnal bunt (KB, causal agent Tilletia indicaMitra) is an economically important fungal pathogen of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) which has caused economic losses in the USA since it was first reported in 1996. To protect U.S. wheat...
